Hi ! These are logs of Project Based Learning that I have been working on for a few weeks with my group. We're working on improving the lives of the homeless.
Corey , Jayden , Sangam and I organised and boxed the donated items ( cans & Hygienic stuff ) Mr Aitken allowed us to leave class to do this. And the staff let us box our items in the meeting area. Dish washing liquid that someone donated leaked in the box & on other items. But Jayden & Corey cleaned it. The tape gun we used to tape the gun got complicated.
I went to the classes in A , S & D block to collect the donated items from students, Miss Aitken let me leave class to do this. Some students didn’t donate anything , the box was very heavy to carry from class to class. We gathered a good amount of donated items , but we spent period 1 and 15 minutes into period 2 to finish.
I asked the nurse ( Alana) if she had anything to donate. Alana was kind enough to search for something in her office to donate. She thought she had nothing to donate until she looked into the cupboard. She donated Pads & Tampons , which is good because when people think of hygienic items , menstrual products are often forgotten.
We gathered supplies we can give to the Salvation army and the City Mission. & they will give them to the homeless/in need. Mr Rodgers allowing us to do this on Mufti day was a big help. Some students not bringing the hygiene products and any cans, but we did get a good amount of donations. The collection of the fundraising went well.
After a representative of City Mission talked to our class, my group gave him the donated products we had collected for CM. Mr Aitken & Miss Johnson came with us & took pictures of us. We gave the donated products to him and he was very pleased that we donated.

I really liked your idea for project based learning. It was great to see how successful it was! Personally, I think that it was one of the most effective PBL ideas I have seen. I feel if you have more time with the presentation, it would've been better, but it was still a great idea.
